Hello! Everyone has to have something to believe in. For me, the universe reminds me of the bigger things out there – of life beyond my own and of those around me. I love this photo of the moon, amazingly taken by my cell phone through a high-powered telescope during the Super Moon of June 2015. It’s a reminder to me to “shoot for the moon” with my latest round of new year’s resolutions. Each year, a personal writing project is among them that fizzles into the unfinished category. This year, I hope to make some rough drafts a reality.
Writing is a way of life for me. By day, I write for a software company. I also write for a community magazine about all things good here in the Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In the past, I’ve edited and written for medical publications and exams. But I’m one of those whose wanted to write since falling in love with reading at a young age. So, I also day dream about writing middle grade novels. You can say that my writing tastes run the gamut.
I’ve shot for the moon several times in my life: visiting South America, living on my own in Philadelphia, and once married, taking a leap of faith with my husband and moving to Idaho, Las Vegas, Arizona, back to Philly and then back to Idaho, where we’re here to stay for awhile with my teenage son, tween-age daughter and tuxedo cat.
I never thought I was one for taking chances, but here I am listing several moves that were made chasing that American Dream – which for us means to live on our own terms. Look for more as I pursue m latest attempt to escape apathy and the trappings of modern times.
